Horst Schulze’s Solís Hotels to debut in Mideast with Doha property

DOHA Solís Hotels & Resorts, led by legendary hotelier Horst Schulze, has been appointed to manage a new 5-star hotel in Doha.

Solís Doha, owned by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, is expected to open in 2015. It will be adjacent to Qatar National Convention Center in the renowned Education City, home to some of the leading international universities in the world.

Employing a unique architecture that will be built to exceptionally high environmental and sustainability standards, Solís Doha will offer state-of-the-art meeting space, luxurious accommodations, a pampering spa, three outstanding restaurants and a spacious indoor recreational area.

Solís Hotels & Resorts was conceived in response to upscale guests’ quest for a more luxurious hotel experience with unparalleled levels of personal service, the company says. Solís is headed by Schulze, the former president, chief operating officer and founding member of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co.

The 418-key Solís Doha is the first property for Solís Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East, as the company strategically expands its global presence. “We are very excited to be able to provide hospitality standards that will be a source of pride for Qatar Foundation,” says Schulze, chairman and CEO. “We seek out unique opportunities with special hotels, and Solís Doha certainly falls into that category.”

The hotel will include a 17,000-sq.-ft. grand ballroom, more than 17,000 sq. ft. of breakout, pre-function and exhibit space, four boardrooms and six meeting rooms.
