Holloway Lodging COO Jackson takes over Dominion Grand Hotel Group

TORONTO Dominion Grand Development Group Inc. has named Michael L. Jackson president and chief operating officer of its newly formed division, Dominion Grand Hotel Group.

Jackson will direct and oversee all aspects of the group’s growth and business operations, including participation in acquisitions of new hotel assets and expanding relationships with financial partners.

Dominion Grand Development specializes in real estate development and property management. Its hotel subsidiary has been formed to capitalize on opportunities specifically in the hotel sector, both in Canada and abroad, for ownership and operation of certain hotel assets and provision of hotel management services to third-party hotel owners.

Jackson has been in the hospitality industry for 35 years and has had held a number of senior executive positions. Prior to joining Dominion Grand, he was president and COO of Holloway Lodging REIT and Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc., positions held concurrently. He also acted as president and COO of Royal Host REIT and was president of Choice Hotels Canada. Jackson served as chairman of the Hotel Association of Canada and is currently a member of its board of directors.
