Hilton to reflag resort in Seychelles

SILHOUETTE ISLAND, SEYCHELLES Hilton Worldwide will reflag and manage the 111-villa Labriz Silhouette Seychelles under its Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand.

The relaunched property, owned by Silhouette Island Resort Ltd., will become Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa in March. It will be the Hilton brand’s second property in Seychelles and the first on Silhouette, the third largest island in the archipelago state.

“We are pleased to enter this partnership for Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, our second Hilton branded property, joining Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa,” says Essam Abouda, Hilton’s vice president of operations for the Arabian Peninsula and Indian Ocean. “Seychelles is a very important leisure destination and an emerging market for Hilton Worldwide and the Hilton Brand in the Indian Ocean.”

Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa offers guests five dining areas with various international cuisines. Leisure facilities include a fitness center, spa, tennis court, swimming pool and water sports center featuring scuba diving, snorkeling, and fishing.

“We are delighted to have signed this management agreement with Hilton Worldwide, the leaders in hospitality, that will help us manage the demand and meet travelers’ high expectations for this new conversion,” says Mohamed Umar Maniku, chairman of Silhouette Island Resort Ltd.

Silhouette is a 30-minute boat or 15-minute helicopter transfer from Seychelles International Airport. The island features Grand Tortoise Sanctuary and Mount Dauban, at 740 m the highest summit on the island and surrounded by virgin forests.
