Hilton Garden Inn to flag historic Milwaukee office building

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN Hilton Garden Inn would flag the 125-year-old Loyalty Building in downtown Milwaukee, under a conversion proposal by First Hospitality Group.

The project to convert the office building to a 128-key hotel requires approval from the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. The architect for the project is Milwaukee-based Kahler Slater.

First Hospitality purchased the six-story, 92,000-sq.-ft. building in March. The proposed hotel would include meeting space, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness center.

Construction is ready to being immediately upon approval, with the opening targeted for summer 2012, BizTimes Milwaukee reports.
