Fouquet’s opening its sixth hotel in this Swiss ski town

Fouquet’s will open a hotel in Gstaad in December, adding a sixth property to a list that includes Paris, New York, Courchevel, St. Barth and Mykonos. The Mykonos hotel debuted a few months ago. Fouquet’s is the brand of Barrière Collection.

Hotels magazine profiled the brand’s New York property, its first US hotel, in Tribeca.

The Gstaad hotel, in the Swiss Alps, was built as one of the flagship properties of the Ultima Group. It now operates under the Fouquet’s name. The project is a strategic partnership between the two groups, which share common values and ambitions.

Grégory Rabuel, CEO of Groupe Barrière, described the opening this way: “A new milestone in our international ambitions.”

“With Gstaad, Fouquet’s continues its expansion into the world’s most iconic destinations,” said Grégory Rabuel, CEO of Groupe Barrière. “This sixth property reflects our ambition to establish a truly distinctive brand on the international stage, driven by the excellence of French hospitality and a resolutely contemporary vision of luxury. More than hotels, our ambition is to create places that inspire connection and emotion, where every experience leaves a lasting impression.”

The hotel has 11 suites and six apartments, which together make up 33 rooms. Spaces include mountain views, fireplaces, contemporary artworks and balconies. A nine-bedroom private chalet of 1,500 square meters is also part of the offering.

The spa covers more than 800 square meters. Facilities include a 15-meter indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, a snow shower and five treatment rooms, one of them a double treatment suite. Treatment protocols are offered with brands such as Augustinus Bader. A fitness area equipped by Technogym, two Pilates Reformers and a yoga studio are also on site.

Zuma will run a pop-up at the hotel. The restaurant serves a contemporary interpretation of Japanese cuisine. The menu includes sushi and sashimi, tartares, wagyu cuts and robata specialties, and is built around sharing. Chefs work around an open kitchen. The venue also has a bar and a heated outdoor terrace.
