Drury Hotels breaks ground on Daytona Beach property

Drury Hotels has begun construction on a new Drury Plaza Hotel in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The property, located off I-95 near Daytona International Speedway, will be the first Drury Plaza Hotel in Daytona and the eighth Drury hotel in Florida. It is the fourth Florida hotel Drury has opened or announced in 2026, following the Drury Inn & Suites Destin Miramar Beach, which opened in May, the Drury Plaza Hotel Tampa Brandon, which opened in June, and the Drury Plaza Hotel Destin, which is set to begin construction soon.

The Drury Plaza Hotel Daytona Speedway will include 180 guest rooms and more than 2,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is now accepting reservations for June 2027 and beyond.

“We are proud to join the community in one of Florida’s most iconic destinations with our newest hotel, the Drury Plaza Hotel Daytona Speedway,” said Chuck Drury, CEO of Drury Hotels. “The hotel’s proximity to the world-famous speedway, the bustling boardwalk, and the beautiful Atlantic beaches enables us to bring our award-winning hospitality and value to travelers looking to stay near the action in this legendary city.”

Planned amenities include free hot breakfast, free dinnertime snacks and beverages at the company’s 5:30 Kickback, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour business and fitness centers, free on-site parking, an outdoor pool and spa, a Kitchen + Bar late-night dining option and a lobby Guest Market.

The hotel’s meeting space will accommodate up to 200 attendees and will operate under Drury’s Meetings with More program, which includes no food-and-beverage minimums, free Wi-Fi in meeting rooms and a flexible cancellation policy allowing groups to apply a portion of their fee toward a future event at any Drury property.

Drury Hotels will conduct recruitment and hiring in the Daytona market as construction continues. The hotel is expected to employ approximately 50 full-time and part-time team members once open.
