Independent hotel revenue platform DIAMO has raised $4 million in seed funding to accelerate its product development and global expansion. The funding round was led by San Francisco-based Thayer Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm with a focus on technology within the global travel and transportation industry, and Canadian software investment company Inovia Capital, with participation from Avalon Capital Group and several angel investors.
The New York-based company is developing tools to help smaller, independent hotels compete with larger chains by simplifying complex revenue management processes. DIAMO’s platform integrates dynamic pricing, digital marketing and a conversion-optimized booking engine, aiming to streamline the guest booking journey and boost hotel revenues by up to 35%, according to the company.
“The revenue challenges faced by smaller independents are far more complex than what existing
disconnected solutions address,” said James Kay, CEO of DIAMO. “Revenue performance is what
enables unique independent hotels to offer authentic, memorable travel experiences. In a world
increasingly dominated by big brands and standardized OTAs, we aim to empower independent
hoteliers who give hospitality its heart. In response, we’ve built an intuitive yet powerful platform that
allows smaller hotels to succeed by using the same revenue tactics as large and branded hotels,
without the need for expensive technology and teams.”
One of the platform’s upcoming features is an AI assistant named “ANDI,” which will help automate revenue strategies for hotels. ANDI is designed to handle tasks such as configuring pricing strategies based on real-time data, launching ad campaigns and providing ongoing recommendations on pricing, marketing and distribution. The tool has been designed as a digital revenue manager for hotels that cannot afford to hire one.
As part of the financing, Tyler Carrico, partner at Thayer Ventures, will join DIAMO’s Board of
Directors. “DIAMO is building something the market has been waiting for,” said Carrico. “We’re
excited to help bring it to more hotels around the world.”
DIAMO currently serves properties across North America, Central America, Europe, Africa and Asia, focusing on hotels with fewer than 150 rooms—particularly those that are owner-operated or managed by small teams.
