Choice Hotels joins Google’s AI mode for hotel booking

Choice Hotels announced it is an early partner in hotel booking through AI Mode in Search, a new Google experience designed to help consumers find and book hotels in a conversational, intuitive way. The capability has started rolling out in the U.S., making it easier for travelers to discover Choice Hotels properties as they plan their next trip.

With hotel booking through AI Mode in Search, travelers can describe what they’re looking for in plain English, including location, amenities, travel dates and anything else important to their stay. They will then receive a visual list of hotel options complete with room photos, rates, guest ratings, reviews and side-by-side comparisons. Choice Hotels is also participating in a new AI Mode capability allowing travelers to see the cost in Choice Privileges points for members.

Once a guest selects a hotel, they can click “Continue on Google,” select a room type and have AI Mode help complete the secure booking via Google Pay.

“Travel discovery is evolving rapidly, and Choice Hotels is actively shaping what comes next,” said Anna Scozzafava, chief data, AI & technology officer of Choice Hotels. “By working with Google as an early partner for hotel booking through AI Mode in Search, we’re helping make it easier for travelers to find the right Choice hotel for their trip while positioning our franchisees to compete and win in the age of agentic commerce.”

The partnership builds on Choice Hotels’ focus on technology innovation. Choice was the first major hotel company to migrate its entire system infrastructure to the cloud, a foundation that enables the company to adopt and scale new capabilities across the enterprise. The company is using AI across guest-facing experiences, franchisee tools and associate workflows to help drive demand, improve hotel operations and deliver value to hotel owners.

“The future of hospitality technology is about making travel simpler for our guests and driving more value for our hotel owners,” Scozzafava added. “Our partnership with Google on hotel booking through AI Mode in Search advances both of those important goals.”
