Hospitality development and management firm Dovetail + Co has partnered with hospitality management company Charlestowne Hotels to support the continued growth of Collective Retreats Governors Island, described as New York City’s premier outdoor luxury retreat.
Charlestowne Hotels will lead commercial strategy, oversee revenue optimization, integrated marketing initiatives, direct booking growth and expanded group and leisure sales efforts while work closely with Dovetail + Co and the on-property team.
Set across a six-acre waterfront site, Collective Retreats Governors Island is an eight-minute ferry ride from Lower Manhattan. The property features 29 upscale accommodations ranging from safari-style tents with private decks to elevated cabins with spa-inspired bathrooms and views of the Statue of Liberty and the Lower Manhattan skyline. On-property dining is available at Three Peaks Lodge, alongside cocktails at the Sunset Terrace Bar and fireside programming. The retreat also hosts weddings, corporate retreats and private events across six indoor and outdoor venues ranging from 500 to 5,000 square feet, accommodating gatherings of up to 250 guests.
“Collective Retreats offers an experience unlike anything else in New York City, offering guests an immersive retreat that feels worlds away while remaining just minutes from Manhattan,” said Phil Hospod, founder and chief executive officer of Dovetail + Co. “Charlestowne Hotels shares our commitment to independent hospitality and will be a valuable collaborator as we continue to build on the retreat’s success, creating even more opportunities for connection, discovery, and memorable stays.”
“Today’s travelers are looking for experiences that feel personal, transportive, and connected to place, and this property delivers that in a truly remarkable way,” said Kyle Hughey, chief executive officer, Charlestowne Hotels. “Our team is excited to support the property’s next phase of growth to strengthen market awareness, implement strategic demand generation, and continue elevating the guest experience.”
As experiential travel continues to drive consumer demand, according to American Express, Dovetail + Co and Charlestowne Hotels will work together to expand leisure and group demand, strengthen direct booking performance and further build the retreat’s visibility within the luxury travel, outdoor hospitality and corporate retreat markets through integrated revenue management, sales and marketing initiatives.
