Carlson turns to banker to consider alternatives: WSJ

Carlson has reportedly asked Morgan Stanley to explore strategic alternatives for its Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, including partnerships, mergers or a sale of the company, according to a Thursday report from The Wall Street Journal.

Minnetonka, Minnesota-based Carlson has more than 1,100 hotels with brands that include its core Radisson, more upscale Radisson Blu, limited-service Country Inns and Suites, lifestyle Radisson Red and a soft brand called Quorvus.

Carlson also owns a significant share of the Rezidor Hotel Group, Brussels, which markets and operates Carlson brands in EMEA and has public shares that trade in Stockholm.

In reponse to the The Wall Street Journal story, Carlson told HOTELS they will have no comment or statement at this time.
