Carlson opens 30th hotel in India

INDORE, INDIA Carlson Hotels Worldwide continues its expansion in India with the opening of its 30th property in the country, the 201-key Radisson Hotel Indore.

The opening highlights Carlson’s accelerated growth in India as part of its Ambition 2015 global growth strategy, which aims to expand its portfolio by at least 50% percent by 2015 to more than 1,500 hotels in operation, says K.B. Kachru, executive vice president of Carlson Hotels in South Asia.

“This is also the 12th Radisson hotel operating in India. With over 40 Radisson hotels under development throughout Asia Pacific, Radisson is the number one, fastest-growing upscale brand in the region,” Kachru says.

Owned by strategic partner Bestech Hospitalities Pte. Ltd., Radisson Hotel Indore is one of four projects Carlson is partnering on with the group in the country. Carlson currently manages Radisson Suites Gurgaon and Park Plaza Noida, and will also manage Radisson Hotel Nagpur, scheduled to open in the first half of 2011.

The hotel has been designed by Singapore-based design firm DBTA International Pte. Ltd. Featuring 18 suites and 183 guestrooms, Radisson Hotel Indore features several distinctive dining options, including The Creative Kitchen, an all-day restaurant serving global cuisine; The Great Kabab Factory, an Indian specialty restaurant; The Lobby Bar, offering an array of international spirits and wines; and The Cakewalk, presenting the finest cakes and pastries.
