Canadian hotel company Group Germain Hotels is adding a brand to its Le Germain and Alt brands: Alt+, the first location of which will open in 2018 at a mixed-use project in Brossard, Quebec.
That’s in addition to the family-run business’s Alt Hotel Quartier DIX30, which opened in 2007 in the lifestyle center of Quarter Dix30. The Alt+ Hotel Quartier DIX30 will be a 4-star hotel with 168 rooms.

Alt+ will have its own logo, branding and hotel design and be sandwiched between the company’s two other brands in terms of star rating: below upscale 4-star Le Germain Hotels, boutiques with a classic design, and above Alt Hotels, 3-star, eco-responsible properties that the company calls “no-frills chic.” Alt+ will have larger rooms and additional services such as room service and valet parking, which aren’t offered at Alt.
“For nearly 10 years we have witnessed firsthand the growing popularity of Quartier DIX30 and have also been attentive to the needs and demands of our guests,” says Christiane Germain, the company’s co-president. “We are therefore convinced that the Alt+ Hotel Quartier DIX30 concept, combining spacious rooms and a number of services to enhance customer experience, will appeal to visitors.”
The 15-story building will include a restaurant on the ground floor as well as rental office space. The hotel represents a C$35 million (US$26.7 million) investment from Group Germain Hotels. Construction on the building has begun.
The company has 7 Alt Hotels and 6 Le Germains, with three Alts and one Le Germain under construction, all in Canada.
