ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA Stone Brewing Co. is planning to build a boutique hotel adjacent to its restaurant in Escondido.
The hotel, which would have between 40 and 50 guestrooms, could open as soon as 2013, Stone officials say. It would cater to tourists visiting the Stone World Bistro & Gardens, and would fill a market gap for the Escondido area; the San Diego suburb lacks high-end lodging for business travelers.
Stone CEO Greg Koch says the hotel’s design will mirror the restaurant’s bold, edgy character. Room rates are expected to be between US$100 and US$200 per night.
