BWH’s WorldHotels enters glamping market with Backdrop collection

WorldHotels, a global brand of independent luxury and lifestyle hotels within the BWH Hotels portfolio, has launched WorldHotels Backdrop, a collection of glamping retreats and outdoor escapes in scenic destinations worldwide. Properties include canvas-tented rooms and riverside cabins near mountains, coastlines and national parks. 

The launch coincides with growth in the global glamping market, valued at $3.79 billion in 2025 and projected to reach $7.87 billion by 2033.

Current Backdrop properties include: 

  • Zion Wildflower Resort, WorldHotels (Virgin, Utah) — Located minutes from Zion National Park, the property offers safari-style accommodations with access to hiking, stargazing and guided desert experiences. 
  • Asheville River Cabins, WorldHotels (Arden, N.C.) — Renovated cabins along the French Broad River near Asheville, with access to tubing, hiking and mountain biking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 
  • The Lodge at Pico Bonito, WorldHotels (La Ceiba, Honduras) — Coming soon, a rainforest lodge near Pico Bonito National Park with access to jungle trails, waterfalls and wildlife. 

WorldHotels has indicated early expansion conversations spanning destinations from Phan Thiet, Vietnam, to locations across Africa and Australia. 

Backdrop properties accommodate corporate events and weddings, featuring indoor and outdoor layouts, on-site kitchens and dedicated presentation areas. For property owners and developers, Backdrop provides access to WorldHotels Rewards, which has 66 million members, an integrated guest management system, group purchasing power and insurance solutions.
