Briefs: Tivoli Hotels opens in Spain; Fairmont’s return to New Orleans

TIVOLI HOTELS TO SPAIN: Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has marked its entry into Spain with the opening of Tivoli La Caleta Tenerife Resort in the Canary Islands. Located in southern Tenerife’s coast, the luxury resort underwent extensive renovations to open with 284 rooms, which includes 20 suites. Designed by architect Melvin Villarroel, the property features three newly refurbished heated pools, three restaurants, four bars, an Anantara Spa with 1,200 square meters of outdoor and indoor facilities and more than 890 square meters of meeting spaces. Part of Minor Hotels and a member of the Global Hotel Alliance, Tivoli Hotels currently operates 17 properties across Brazil, Portugal, Qatar, China and The Netherlands.

FAIRMONT TO RETURN TO NEW ORLEANS: Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Louisiana-based developer Kailas Companies have announced the downtown redevelopment project of 1010 Common Street, which will see the return of the Fairmont brand to New Orleans. Scheduled to open in summer 2025, the hotel will be located in the Central Business District near the city’s French Quarter. Fairmont New Orleans will be part of a redevelopment project that will reimagine the former Bank of New Orleans Building, a 31-story tower and the 10th tallest building in the city. The hotel will occupy 18 stories in the building and feature 250 rooms and 40 suites ranging from one-bedrooms to specialty suites. Fairmont New Orleans will include three dining venues, more than 20,000 square feet of function space, a 10,000-square-foot spa, a library and a business center. Part of Accor, Fairmont currently has 90 hotels across 32 countries.

PEACHTREE APPROACHES $750M IN CPACE FINANCING: Peachtree Group secured $150 million in CPACE financing in December 2023, nearing $750 million completed since the company was established in 2019. In 2023, Peachtree completed 23 commercial property-assessed clean energy financing deals in the U.S. for $250 million in directly originated and balance-sheet-funded CPACE financing. Some of the significant hospitality CPACE transactions completed in 2023 were The Thompson in Palm Springs, Calif; El Caminante, Dana Point, Calif.; The Marriott Tribute Hotel, St. Augustine, Fla.; Palihotel, San Francisco; and DoubleTree by Hilton Youngstown Downtown, Youngstown, Ohio. Some of the notable non-hospitality CPACE deals completed in 2023 were the 950 3rd Street, Washington, D.C. (multifamily); Reserve at Vinedo, Paso Robles, Calif. (multifamily); and Old City Hall, Tacoma, Wash. (mixed-use). Currently, Peachtree manages more than $2.5 billion in equity and augmented services and has executed numerous investments valued at around $9.3 billion in total market capitalization.

RENAISSANCE HOTEL IN AUSTIN: Downright Austin, A Renaissance Hotel, is slated to open this spring. Situated close to the Red River District in downtown Austin, the hotel features 367 guestrooms, including five suites, 31,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces for events and multiple dining options. An existing hotel is undergoing a multi-million-dollar transformation to open as a Renaissance-branded hotel. Lost Boy & Co. has collaborated with FBR Management to open two dining and cocktail concepts within the hotel this spring. At present, Renaissance Hotels has more than 170 properties across 40 countries and participates in Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s travel program.

FITNESS AND RECOVERY HOTEL IN DUBAI: Kerzner International has announced the upcoming opening of SIRO One Za’abeel Hotel. Slated to open in February, this will be Kerzner’s new fitness and wellness-focused brand’s first property. The hotel’s fitness and recovery labs will open on Thursday, while accommodations will open from February 12. Located within Dubai’s One Za’abeel development. Guestrooms are soundproofed, with recovery tools, stretching bars, refueling options and access to virtual classes available inside the rooms. The hotel’s fitness suites have personal gyms and recovery suites with stretching accessories. The fitness and recovery lab is spread across two floors and consists of a 1,000-square-meter gym, studios for pilates, spin and yoga, multi-sport courts and an experience box.
