Briefs: Room Mate launches new brand; Wyndham expands business platform

ROOM MATE’S NEW BRAND: Room Mate Hotels, the Spanish hotel chain, has launched a new 4-star plus brand, Room Mate Collection. This is the second brand by the group and is an evolution of the Room Mate brand. Two properties from Room Mate’s existing 22-hotel portfolio, the 66-room Gerard in Barcelona and the 85-key Giulia in Milan, will become a part of the Room Mate Collection. The company is considering options to add more properties to this collection through acquisition, rental or management agreements. Room Mate is in talks to add new properties by the end of this year or early 2025 in London, Paris, Rome (Sicily, Milan and Rome) and Germany (Berlin, Munich and Hamburg), with the focus to expand mostly in Europe.

WYNDHAM EXPANDS BUSINESS PLATFORM: Wyndham has expanded its business platform, Wyndham Business, which allows businesses of all types and sizes to earn rewards, gift status to employees, unlock guaranteed room discounts, bill rooms to corporate account and pay through a single monthly invoice and more. Other features include instant group bookings, personalized support and guaranteed savings and perks. The program is anchored by the new Wyndham Rewards Business, a B2B extension of Wyndham’s rewards program. For a limited time, businesses can earn a future free hotel night when they join Wyndham Rewards Business and complete a qualified stay by June 30. Complementing the Wyndham Rewards Business is the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card, which together with the program, allows small businesses to add to their point-earning capabilities. Alongside perks, like 8x points in eligible hotel and gas purchases and complimentary Diamond membership, new card holders can unlock 100,000 bonus points after $15,000 in annual spend.

SIX SENSES’ CARIBBEAN DEBUT: Six Senses is making its entry into the Caribbean with the opening of Six Senses La Sagesse. The resort is situated around a natural lagoon, which serves as a habitat for birds, fish and other animals. The property has 56 pool suites and 15 villas, ranging from one-, two- and four-bedroom units, with outdoor terraces and private plunge pools. The resort includes an Experience Center which offers experiences to connect guests with Grenada’s Spice Island heritage, three restaurants, two bars, a bakery, destination dining and a spa.

RADISSON BRAND ENTERS CAPE TOWN: Radisson Hotel Group has launched its Radisson brand to Cape Town in South Africa with the rebranding of Park Inn Cape Town Foreshore to Radisson hotel Cape Town Foreshore. The hotel, which is located close to the International Convention Centre and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, marks the group’s third Radisson-branded hotel in South Africa. The hotel features a revitalized lobby and foyer, a restaurant, rooftop bar and terrace, plunge pool, gym and 125 square meters of meeting space which accommodate 120 to 140 guests.
