Briefs: Radisson Individuals to Berlin; Embassy Suites debuts in Aruba

RADISSON INDIVIDUALS TO BERLIN: Radisson Hotel Group is launching its Radisson Individuals brand in Berlin with Hotel Berlin, Berlin. The 701-room hotel will be a part of Radisson Individuals from April, growing Radisson Individuals’ portfolio to 56 hotels in operation and under development two-and-a-half years after the brand’s creation. Opened in 1958, Hotel Berlin, Berlin is owned and operated by Pandox AB. The hotel has 4,000 square meters of conference space across 21 meeting rooms, including a 540-square-meter ballroom, a restaurant and fitness and wellness areas. The hotel underwent extensive renovations, which started in 2019 and continued till fall 2022, which saw enhancements to the public spaces and meeting areas.   

EMBASSY SUITES DEBUTS IN ARUBA: Hilton has opened Embassy Suites by Hilton Aruba Resort, the 330-all-suite resort near Eagle Beach on One Happy Island in Aruba. This is the first Embassy Suites by Hilton property in Hilton and the second Hilton hotel on the island. The resort features two-room suites, five dining venues, a grab-and-go market, a pool, a private underground tunnel that connects the hotel to Eagle Beach, and a fitness center. The hotel will open a spa with five treatment rooms later this year. The hotel also has 7,000 square feet of indoor event space and 2,500 square feet of outdoor event space. Hilton currently owns more than 25 properties in the Caribbean. 

MOHEGAN JOINS SOLOVIEV’S NYC CASINO BID: Soloviev Group has announced that Mohegan has joined its bid as the casino partner of Freedom Plaza in NYC. This announcement follows the New York State Gaming Commission’s Request for Applications to develop and build at least three casinos in New York’s downstate region. Mohegan is a subsidiary of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, and it owns, develops, and manages eight integrated entertainment resorts in the United States, Canada, and Northern Asia. The proposed Freedom Plaza will include a 1,000-room hotel, two residential towers and a museum celebrating freedom and democracy. 

LEMON TREE SIGNS IN INDIA: Lemon Tree Hotels, based in New Delhi, has signed a hotel in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Lemon Tree Hotel in Jabalpur will have 75 rooms, a restaurant, a club, a bar, a banquet hall, and a gym. Carnation Hotels Pvt. Ltd. will manage the hotel, which is scheduled to open in June 2024. Ltd., Lemon Tree Hotels’ wholly owned subsidiary and management vertical.
