Briefs: Radisson forays into Tunisia; Hilton’s new multi-brand hotel

RADISSON EXPANDS INTO TUNISIA: Radisson Hotel Group has expanded its presence in northern Africa and ventured into Tunisia with the opening of the Radisson Hotel Tunis City Center. Located in the country’s capital, the hotel is situated close to the popular attractions, such as the Al-Zaytuna Mosque and the site of Carthage, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a few steps from the central Habib Bourguiba Avenue. The hotel features 97 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop bar and restaurant with views of Tunis; along with three conference rooms, three smaller meeting rooms and a fitness center. Currently, Radisson’s global portfolio includes more than 1,340 hotels in operation and under development in over 95 countries.

HILTON GROWS MULTI-BRAND PORTFOLIO: Hilton has expanded its multi-brand hotels with the opening of the dual-branded hotel, The Ellie Beach Resort Myrtle Beach, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree Resort by Hilton on Springmaid Beach, S.C. Featuring 452 rooms (238 Tapestry Collection rooms and 214 DoubleTree rooms), the hotel is owned by Singerman Real Estate and managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality. The oceanfront property features two restaurants, six pools and three waterslides, sports courts, fitness centers and offers direct access to the beach and Springmaid Pier.

GRAND HYATT SINGAPORE BEGINS PHASED REOPENING: Grand Hyatt Singapore will be unveiling the first phase of its multi-year transformation and welcoming guests from July 10, as part of its phased reopening strategy. The reopening of the hotel located on Orchard Road includes the nature-inspired Terrace Wing with a reimagined fitness center and a 25-meter lap pool. The Terrace Wing has been designed by Tokyo-headquartered Strickland and NAO Taniyama along with the U.K.-based Grant Associates. The hotel will also open a restaurant, a night club and a grand club lounge (which will operate until early 2025). More restaurants, a bar and a wellness hub are slated to open later this year. The hotel will complete its transformation when the Grand Wing opens in early 2025 to offer 699 rooms and suites. The hotel will fully operate renewable electricity and use an in-house food waste management plan to convert excess food to support eco-friendly initiatives.

DISNEY’S FORT WILDERNESS RESORT OPENS NEW CABINS: Disney Vacation Club has opened the first phase of new cabins at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Located in the woodlands of the Walt Disney World Resort, over 350 cabins will continue to open in phases through this year and are part of a collection of ongoing improvement project at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Each one-bedroom cabin accommodates up to six guests and consists of a main bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living area, dining area and outdoor patio.
