MISSION HILL ACQUIRES TWO IN FLORIDA: Mission Hill Hospitality has acquired two select-service Marriott hotels in Clearwater Beach, Fla. —the AC Hotel Clearwater Beach and the Courtyard Clearwater Beach. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The two hotels mark the 30th and 31st additions to Mission Hill’s portfolio since the company was founded in March 2021. The properties also mark Mission Hill’s fourth and fifth acquisitions in Florida. The 144-key AC Hotel opened in June 2022 and features a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a pool deck bar and multiple dining venues. The 139-key Courtyard offers an adjacent 50-slip marina with a 1,100-foot fishing pier and a recreational park. The hotel includes an outdoor pool, pool deck, rooftop bar, restaurant and 1,000 square feet of event space.

DAVIDSON TO MANAGE WYNDHAM GRAND JUPITER: Davidson Hospitality Group has grown its presence in South Florida with the addition of a Wyndham property to its management portfolio. Davidson Resorts, a specialized operating division under Davidson Hospitality Group, has been selected by Allied Capital & Development to manage Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harborside Place in Jupiter, Fla. The hotel offers 179 rooms, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop pool and deck and a fitness center. Davidson Hospitality currently operates several resorts in Florida under Davidson Resorts. Davidson Hospitality’s portfolio currently includes 87 properties, over 200 restaurants, bars and lounges and more than 1.8 million square feet of meeting space across the U.S.

APARTHOTEL ADAGIO OPENS IN ANTWERP: Borealis Hotel Group (BHG) has announced the opening of the new-build Aparthotel Adagio Antwerp City Center. Located in Antwerp, the hotel is owned by BHG and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA. The eight-story hotel features studio apartments with kitchens suited for both short and extended stays. The hotel also has a communal bar area, a fitness area, a laundry room and a library. This is BHG’s 27th hotel, following the recent openings of Holiday Inn Eindhoven Airport, the Motto by Hilton Hotel in Rotterdam and ibis Styles in Copenhagen.

MIXED PROFITABILITY IN KEY MIDDLE EAST MARKETS: Key markets in the Middle East and Africa market showed mixed profitability in May, according to STR’s May P&L data. Jordan and Qatar achieved month-over-month GOPPAR improvements. Jordan’s GOPPAR level touched $66.77, up +34.1% month-over-month. This was 106% of May 2022 comparable but was down from the 369% index of April. Qatar’s GOPPAR reached $37.95, down 20.9% YOY. However, the market posted a month-over-month rise of 39% and was among the only markets to report improvement in the index (at 79% of the May 2022 levels). With a GOPPAR reaching $71.75, Saudi Arabia was the only other market to record a higher index from last month, at 102% of the 2022 level.

HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS TO OPEN IN BANGKOK: IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bangkok Asoke with A.P.K. Real Estate Co., Ltd. This is IHG’s first collaboration with A.P.K. Real Estate. Slated to open in early 2025, the vacant new-build high-rise BelAir Mansion residential condominium will be converted to open as the Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel. The hotel will have 180 rooms, 15% including kitchenettes, a lounge and bar, a pool, a gym, meeting areas and DIY laundry. Currently, there are 22 open Holiday Inn Express properties in South East Asia & Korea and 14 more in the regional pipeline. Globally, the brand has over 3,000 opened properties and more than 327,000 rooms across 50 countries.
