The hotel has had “plaza” in its name since it initially opened in 1979 as the Plaza Nacional. The hotel includes three suites, along with the repurposed historic buildings which will house a spa and bungalow suites. A 42-foot-tall Anaqua tree, which was once listed in the American Forestry Associations’ National Register of Big Trees, is integrated into the property. This will be the first Autograph Collection-branded hotel in San Antonio.
