Briefs: Marriott signs two properties in China; Davidson adds in Florida

MARRIOTT SIGNINGS IN CHINA: Marriott International, Inc. has agreed to launch The Ritz-Carlton and Marriott Executive Apartments brands in Suzhou, China, in collaboration with China Central Place. The two complex properties are set to open at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, respectively. Designed by Remedios Studio, The Ritz-Carlton will feature 190 rooms and suites, multiple dining options, an indoor pool, fitness center, spa and 735 square meters of conference facilities, including a 508-square-meter ballroom. Marriott Executive Apartments Suzhou, designed by Aston Design, will include 270 residential apartments, a 31-square-meter meeting room and a resident’s lounge. In Suzhou, Marriott currently operates 15 hotels across eight brands. 

DAVIDSON HOSPITALITY ADDS IN FLORIDA: Davidson Resorts, the operating vertical under Davidson Hospitality Group, has been selected by Flag Luxury Group and Unicorp National Developments to manage Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive in Orlando, Fla. Located at the ICON Park entertainment district, the resort includes 613 rooms and suites, two restaurants and bars, two outdoor pools, fitness centers, 60,000 square feet of event space and a shuttle to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and SeaWorld Orlando theme parks. Davidson Hospitality Group’s portfolio currently comprises 84 properties, more than 200 restaurants, bars and lounges and more than 1.5 million square feet of meeting space in the U.S.  

HOME2 SUITES IN ONTARIO: Blue Ridge Hotel Partners has announced the opening of Home2 Suites by Hilton Huntsville in Ontario, Canada. GS Holdings Huntsville, a partnership between The Ghoman Group and API Development Consultant, owns the property. The pet-friendly hotel includes all-suite accommodations, communal spaces, an indoor saline pool, a fire pit and a grill area.   

AC HOTEL TO OPEN IN DAYTON: AC Hotel Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, is set to open this March. Developed by Crawford Hoying, the hotel is operated by Shaner Hotels. The hotel features 134 rooms, a fitness center, a lounge, a rooftop bar and restaurant and 4,500 square feet of meeting space.   

EMBASSY SUITES OPENS IN VIRGINIA BEACH: Gold Key|PHR and the Cavalier Resort Virginia Beach have announced that The Embassy Suites Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort hotel will open on February 16 in Virginia Beach, Va. The opening of the new oceanfront hotel is part of Cavalier Resort’s $350 million master plan, almost ten years in the making, which began with the enhancement of the Historic Cavalier Hotel in 2014. The hotel’s opening adds 157 more suites to the Cavalier Resort enclave, along with a conference space, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and two restaurants.
