Briefs: King and Prince Beach Resort sells; largest Hampton by Hilton in mainland Europe

KING AND PRINCE BEACH RESORT CHANGES HANDS: The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga. has new owners. The 142-room hotel was acquired by a joint venture between Charleston, S.C.-based South Street Partners and San Francisco- based TPG Real Estate. The seller, Mississippi-based MMI Hospitality Group, a family-owned and operated private investment partnership, owned the property for the past 44 years. The resort is a member of the Historic Hotels of America and one of the largest beachfront properties in coastal Georgia’s Golden Isles. The property includes an 18-hole championship golf course, beachfront condos, private homes and developable land. The resort is expected to undergo renovations soon. Breakwater advised on the sale of the hotel.

HAMPTON BY HILTON’S LARGEST HOTEL IN MAINLAND EUROPE: Hampton by Hilton has opened its latest hotel in Vienna, marking its largest property in mainland Europe. Hampton by Hilton Vienna City West is located near the Westbahnhof and Schönbrunn Palace and offers 355 rooms. The new hotel offers complimentary hot breakfast and features a fitness center, an EV charging station and a business center. The hotel is managed by Primestar Hotel Group.

THE LANGHAM TO OPEN IN BANGKOK: Langham Hospitality Group and Rabbit Holdings, an affiliate of BTS Group, will be bringing The Langham to Bangkok. The Langham, Customs House will be located in Bangkok’s Bang Rak District and occupy a complex alongside the Chao Paya River. Slated to open in 2026, the centerpiece of the site will be heritage building of the old Customs House, which will be restored as part of the project. The structure will be accompanied by a former post office and a modern structure, where the hotel’s 78 rooms will be based. The hotel will be operated by Langham Hospitality Group.

IHG EXPANDS JAPAN PRESENCE: IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan has partnered with Hotel Management International Ltd. to rebrand three hotels in Japan to the ANA Crowne Plaza brand. Totaling 539 rooms, the three hotels will be renovated ahead of their conversion to ANA Crowne Plaza Kochi, ANA Crowne Plaza Chiryu and ANA Crowne Plaza Hamamatsu. They will join over 20 ANA Crowne Plaza hotels in Japan and over 400 Crowne Plaza hotels globally. The three hotels are expected to open in the first half of 2026. The three properties also add to IHG’s presence in Japan, which currently includes 47 open hotels and 15 in the pipeline.
