KIMPTON TO OPEN IN BUDAPEST: Kimpton BEM Budapest is preparing to open in July. The boutique luxury hotel is located along the Buda banks and close to the Castle District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Designed by Marcel Wanders, a 19th-century mansion was transformed to open as the 127-room hotel. The hotel features an all-day bar and restaurant at the lobby, a signature chef-driven restaurant and an exclusive rooftop oasis. The lifestyle hotel includes a wellness area (with a fitness center, hot tub and steam room), a grand ballroom and three more venues for smaller events. Part of IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, Kimpton has more than 75 hotels and over 100 restaurants, bars and lounges globally.
BOB W STRENGTHENS LONDON FOOTPRINT: Bob W, the tech-powered hotel operator, has grown its footprint in London with three new hotels. The brand now has 13 properties across the city. The new properties – the Bob W Tower Hill Residences, Bob W Olympia and Bob W Holland Park – add 20,000 square feet of serviced apartment space to the company’s portfolio. These openings follow the opening of Bob W St. Paul’s in March, marking the launch of four Bob W hotels in the capital within two months. The three hotels feature fully serviced studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses with rooftop terraces, along with the brand’s signature technology including a digital front desk, self-service check-in and round-the-clock remote customer service.
STAYBRIDGE SUITES WIDENS EUROPEAN FOOTPRINT: IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its upscale extended stay portfolio in Europe and added more than 380 rooms to its Staybridge Suites brand in the region. The hospitality group has signed three properties –  the152-room Staybridge Suites Budapest-Parkside in Hungary; the 99-room Staybridge Suites Antwerp in Belgium; and the 132-room Staybridge Suites Belfast in Northern Ireland. All the hotels will offer the brand’s signature features, including residential-style accommodations, fully equipped kitchens, a fitness center, convenience store, complimentary laundry facilities, storage lockers and a daily breakfast buffet. Later this year, the brand will launch in Spain with the opening of Staybridge Suites Malaga. Staybridge Suites’ European portfolio consists of 10 hotels and nine more in the pipeline. Globally, Staybridge Suites has 324 hotels, with a pipeline of 171 schedule to open in the next three to five years.
EVERWOOD ACQUIRES HYATT REGENCY GREEN BAY: An affiliate of Everwood Capital Partners has acquired Hyatt Regency Green Bay and KI Convention Center in Green Bay, Wis. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The hotel will undergo renovations to upgrade services and modernize facilities. The 241-room hotel features 100,000 square feet of meeting space at both the hotel as well as the convention center which can accommodate 2,700 persons, along with a market and restaurant. The hotel’s operations are overseen by Scarlett Hotel Group, with Jessie Shelby continuing her role as general manager. The acquisition marks a significant milestone for Everwood as it grows its estate in the hospitality sector. The property’s purchase is Everwood’s latest venture, following its merger with Scarlett Hotel Group earlier this year.
MARRIOTT SIGNS SHERATON IN ARGENTINA: Marriott International has signed Sheraton Buenos Aires Greenville Polo & Resort, marking the brand’s introduction in Hudson, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Owned by Pereiraola S.A. Group and operated by Gijon S.A. and its subsidiary Senda Management, the hotel is scheduled to open in the third quarter. Located between two polo fields, the hotel will feature 118 rooms and suites. The hotel spans more than 21,500 square feet and also offers a pool, fitness center, restaurant, spa and meeting spaces. Sheraton Buenos Aires Greenville is part of a development which includes residential spaces, apartments, polo fields, sports facilities and other amenities.
