Briefs: Hyatt Regency opens in Hangzhou; IntercityHotel signs in Rotterdam-Schiedam

HYATT REGENCY OPENS IN HANGZHOU: Hyatt Hotels Corp. has opened Hyatt Regency Hangzhou International Airport. The 336-room hotel is located close to Terminal 4. The hotel features multiple dining venues, multi-functional meeting and event spaces spanning 26,909 square feet, an infinity swimming pool on the third floor, a spa and a fitness center.

INTERCITYHOTEL SIGNS IN ROTTERDAM-SCHIEDAM: Deutsche Hospitality’s IntercityHotel brand has signed an agreement for a new IntercityHotel in Rotterdam-Schiedam. IntercityHotel has signed the agreement with the joint venture between Dutch project development company De Veste Schiedam B.V. and Necron GmbH. This will be Necron Group’s third IntercityHotel property, following the construction of hotels in Zurich and Schipol. The 18-story, new-build hotel is slated to open by the end of 2025. The hotel will be the first to feature Intercity Hotel’s “Next Gen” concept. The centerpiece of the concept is a “city square,” a lobby that can double up as a space for meetings, working and dining. The hotel will have 283 rooms, including over 20 long-stay units and a conference area. Deutsche Hospitality operates four hotels in the Netherlands, two of which are IntercityHotels, with two more IntercityHotels under construction. The brand is also present in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and the Middle East. 

DELHI-NCR’S FIRST HILTON HOTEL: Hilton has signed Hilton Sohna Resort & Spa, its first flagship brand in the Delhi-NCR region. This also marks Hilton’s second hotel and management agreement with the Dangayach Group after the recent signing of India’s first Waldorf Astoria in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The 165-room resort, spanning 9.3 acres, is scheduled to debut in 2026. It will feature 105 palace rooms and 60 villas with views of the Aravalli Hills. The hotel will also feature 7,500 square meters of indoor and outdoor space for meetings and events, several dining venues, a fitness center and a spa.   

PAN PACIFIC HOTELS VENTURES INTO AFRICA: Pan Pacific Hotels Group, a member of Singapore-listed UOL Group, has marked its debut in the African market with the opening of the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites in Nairobi, Kenya. The 175-suite property is located within the Global Trade Center complex in the city’s Westlands business district. The Pac Pacific Serviced Suites Nairobi offers one- to four-bedroom penthouse suites featuring dining and lounge areas, a fully equipped kitchenette, a separate laundry area and a private balcony. The property includes multiple dining options, an outdoor pool, a gym and a children’s play area.
