Briefs: HR Group to manage Grandhotel Belvédère; Kimpton expands in Mexico

HR GROUP TO MANAGE GRANDHOTEL BELVÉDÈRE: HR Group, the Berlin-based hotel operating company, is expanding its management portfolio in Switzerland with the addition of Grandhotel Belvédère in Davos. HR Group already manages eight hotels in the country. The hotel formerly operated under the Steigenberger Icon brand. Steigenberger Hotels AG announced in 2023 that the group would be exiting the hotel. Built in 1875, the landmark hotel features 126 rooms (including 30 suites), restaurants and bars, a pool, wellness area and five meeting rooms. The hotel will operate under its existing name for now, without an association to any global brand. HR Group and the owners will be undertaking renovations to the property, with the completion date being planned for the period following the World Economic Forum 2025. The hotel will then be launched under an international brand. Steigenberger will continue to manage Grandhotel Belvédère till June 30, with HR Group taking over from July 1.
