HEI ADDS TO NEW YORK MANAGEMENT PORTFOLIO: HEI Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the Renaissance Times Square. The 317-key hotel was recently acquired by Newbond and Apollo Management. The hotel is located in Times Square, close to New York’s Theater District. One of the most photographed hotels in the country, the iconic hotel was built in 1990 and underwent renovations in 2019. Situated amid the “Bowtie” of Times Square, the hotel offers a restaurant, a fitness center and 3,500 square feet of event space. Renaissance Times Square marks HEI’s eighth hotel in the New York Metropolitan Area and the fourth with Newbond and Apollo Management.

1 HOTELS OPENS IN LONDON: 1 Hotels, the nature-inspired hotel brand founded by SH Hotels & Resorts Chairman Barry Sternlicht, has opened its flagship hotel in London. Developed in partnership with Crosstree Real Estate Partners, the 181-room 1 Hotel Mayfair marks 1 Hotels’ venture into Europe. Located in Mayfair in central London overlooking Green Park, the hotel features vertical landscapes, sustainable design, nature-inspired experiences and farm-to-table dining. Two existing buildings were renovated to create the hotel, with more than 80% of the original structures being retained for the project. Two new floors were added to 44 suites, which overlook Green Park or the Piccadilly skyline. The hotel, designed by London-based G.A. Studio along with SH Hotels & Resorts’ internal design team, has more than 1,300 plants and over 200 local and native plant species, while the “living chandelier” is made up of 50,000 strands of air plants. The hotel includes a spa, a fitness center and multiple dining venues.
ACCOR’S SECOND PULLMAN IN INDIA: Accor has added its second Pullman hotel in India, with the signing of Pullman Amritsar in Punjab in northern India. Spanning 12,000 square meters, Pullman Amritsar is scheduled to open in 2027. The hotel will have 200 rooms, multiple dining outlets and a 1,200-square-meter banquet space along with a fitness center, spa and swimming pool.
FOUR SEASONS OPENS IN QATAR: Four Seasons has opened Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar, a Mediterranean-style town including restaurants, retail areas, family entertainment and art galleries. The beachfront resort is located at the end of a residential street and offers 161 one-, two- and three-bedroom units with fully furnished kitchens and furnished outdoor terraces. The hotel includes multiple dining outlets, with more venues slated to open in 2024. The hotel also offers swimming pools, a kid’s club and spa with salon services, a gym and an indoor lap pool overlooking the sea.
SWISSOTEL ADDS TO TURKEY PORTFOLIO: Accor has opened Swissôtel Resort & Spa Çeşme in Ilica, Turkey. The resort has 248 rooms, including 18 suites equipped with smart technology and offering views of the sea and gardens. The hotel includes multiple dining options, a spa with 10 private treatment rooms, a pool and indoor and outdoor pools along with 10 meeting spaces. Swissôtel Resort & Spa Çeşme is the only branded residence by Swissotel on Ilica Beach. The brand has more properties in Turkey, Qatar and Bulgaria.
