Briefs: Four Seasons residences in Jeddah; Holiday Inn returns to Japan

FOUR SEASONS RESIDENCES IN JEDDAH: Midad Real Estate Investment Co. has announced the Four Seasons Private Residences Jeddah. The new property, located on the Corniche in Jeddah, has been designed by SOM and will feature art design elements, including a suspended bridge which connects the towers each stretching 60 meters and housing eight stories. The design is eyeing a place at the Guinness World Records once completed. Four Seasons Private Residences Jeddah will offer luxury accommodations and private residences with views of the Red Sea. Located near the Crystal Gallery, the property features 247 rooms and suites, 21 serviced apartments and 64 private residences (including two penthouses). The project has been designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Richmond International. Residents can access all the hotel services and exclusive amenities. The property includes a spa and hammam, indoor and outdoor pools, retail and gourmet restaurants, a cigar bar, shisha lounge and 4,000 square meters of meeting and event space. Residents also have access to a private residents’ lounge, an outdoor terrace, fitness centers and valet service, all managed by a dedicated Four Seasons residential team. Currently, Four Seasons operates more than 50 residential projects globally.

HOLIDAY INN RETURNS TO JAPAN: IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with AXA IM Alts to open a Holiday Inn hotel in Kyoto, heralding the brand’s return to Japan. The first Holiday Inn was launched and opened in Japan in 1973. Slated to open in early 2025, Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo will be Japan’s 11th hotel under the Holiday Inn brand family and IHG’s third hotel in the city. A 183-room hotel will undergo refurbishment and rebranding before reopening under the Holiday Inn flag. Once it reopens, the hotel will feature a lobby lounge and cafĂ© bar, a restaurant, banquet spaces, a gym and traditional Japanese daiyokujo baths. The renovation will prioritize improving the building’s energy efficiency, including the installation of new showers, guest room management systems and new facilities. With more than 43,000 properties globally, Holiday Inn is one of the world’s biggest hotel brand families. At present, IHG has 59 open and pipeline hotels across Japan and is set to expand its portfolio further in the country.

PYRAMID GLOBAL ADDS FOUR RESORTS: Pyramid Global Hospitality has expanded in the U.S and added four resorts to its management portfolio. The recent additions include Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix; Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, Fla.; Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham, Mass.; and Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Md. Formed by the merger of three hotel and resort management companies, Pyramid Global’s portfolio consists of more than 240 properties globally.

MINING EXCHANGE HOTEL OPENS: The new Mining Exchange Hotel has opened in downtown Colorado Springs, Colo. The building initially opened in 1902 as the stock exchange for gold and silver. It has been reimagined to open as a hotel with 128 rooms, two new dining venues, meeting and events spaces and a spa. The lifestyle hotel was acquired by Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners, a subsidiary of Kemmons Wilson Companies, in 2022 and will be managed by Practice Hospitality. Mining Exchange Hotel will be undergoing renovations, which will include upgrades to the full-service spa, with interiors being designed by Chris Pardo, founder of Elemental Architecture.

BANYAN TREE RESORT, RESIDENCES IN THE CARIBBEAN: Rockwell Island Development Group, along with its owner and developer Rafael Reyes, has announced Banyan Tree Bimini Resort & Residences in Bimini, Bahamas. Sale and construction have already started, with the first five residences set to be delivered in early 2025. The property is located on Rockwell Island, a secluded peninsula around 48 nautical miles east of Miami. The property will feature 54 custom waterfront residences, a 50-key luxury hotel and a beach club. The second phase will offer a deepwater superyacht marina, an 18-hole golf course and a members-only clubhouse. Banyan Tree is overseeing resort management and the rental program for private residences. Oppenheim Architecture is leading the property’s design, with OFFICIAL leading marketing in the U.S.
