EVEN HOTELS BREAKS GROUND IN MIAMI: IHG Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on its new EVEN Hotels property in suburban Miami. Located in the Miami community of the same name, EVEN Hotel Sweetwater – Doral is scheduled to open in the summer of 2024. The hotel’s owner and developer is ASI Diaz Doral Hotel Investment Group LLC. Architect Tony Rodriguez-Tellaheche is designing the hotel, and Kathy Kesler is working on the interiors. The project builds on IHG’s existing partnership with ASI Global following the development of the nearby Staybridge Suites Miami International Airport. EVEN Hotel Sweetwater – Doral will include key features of the brand’s recently launched refreshed prototype. The hotel will offer three room types with varying exercise amenities along with access to its central athletic studio. The new restaurant and adjacent 24×7 market will also provide a variety of health-conscious meals, snacks and beverages. Currently, EVEN Hotels has more than 50 properties open or in the pipeline.

MARRIOTT HOTEL OPENS IN RABAT, MOROCCO: The Rabat Marriott has opened in Rabat, Morocco. The hotel offers 188 rooms, including 16 suites and 65 rooms and suites, which can be arranged with twin beds for corporate events. The hotel was designed in collaboration with French interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel. The hotel also features four restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool, spa, fitness room, a hammam and a conference center. The conference center spans two floors and consists of eight modular spaces and outdoor areas to accommodate up to 1,000 people. The center also has three meeting rooms, each with a capacity of up to 100 people.
SPARK GHC ADDS TO MIDWEST PORTFOLIO: Spark GHC, a private real estate joint venture focused on hospitality assets in the U.S. Midwest, has made three acquisitions and/or investments in Northeast Ohio, IHG hotels & Resorts branded properties. The investments are in select service and extended-stay properties and range between healthy cash-generating assets and value-add opportunities. The investments add to Spark GHC’s current portfolio of IHG, Marriott and Hilton-branded hotels. These are the 12th, 13th and 14th acquisitions and/or investments made by the investors since 2018 and increase the company’s assets under management to more than $250 million. Spark GHC is a joint venture between Spark Hotels and Green Harvest Capital.
WESTIN SAVANNAH HARBOR COMPLETES $8M RENOVATION: The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa has completed an $8 million renovation to refurbish its public spaces. The renovation started in July 2022 and was completed earlier this month. Spearheaded by KTGY’s interior design studio, KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group, the redesign focused on the entry, reception areas and lobby, along with the resort’s ballrooms, surrounding restrooms and elevator lobbies. The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort & Spa, located along the Savannah River and adjacent to the Savannah Trade and Convention Center, offers five on-site dining venues, a full-service spa, an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts and a croquet lawn. The resort has 403 rooms with views of the golf course, Intracoastal waterways or Savannah Harbor.
THE HOXTON’S NEW SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL RATE: The Hoxton, part of London-based Ennismore, has introduced The Good Rate to reward guests who choose to travel more sustainably while staying at two or more Hoxton hotels across Europe or taking a train to a Hoxton property in the U.S. The Hoxton will give a $20/£20/€20 discount at each destination booked as part of a multi-Hoxton trip navigated by rail. Guests can book directly from the website and show the relevant train ticket at check-in to avail of the discount at each hotel. The Good Rate can be used along with existing room offers and promotions as long as both stays are taken consecutively and booked directly through thehoxton.com.
