Briefs: Blue Water expands portfolio; Hilton’s Curio Collection adds in Greece

BLUE WATER ADDS TO PORTFOLIO: Blue Water Development, the Ocean City, Md.- based outdoor hospitality company, has acquired the Pine Knoll Shores in Atlantic Beach, N.C.; management of a campground in Rockport, Maine; and a campground in Greenfield Park, N.Y. The seven-story oceanfront Inn at Pine Knoll Shores recently underwent renovations featuring on-site dining options. These additions mark a year of growth for Blue Water, as the company added more than 20 RV resorts, two marinas and a hotel in 2022. 

CURIO COLLECTION ADDS IN GREECE: The Lindian Village Beach Resort Rhodes, Curio Collection by Hilton, will be the first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Greece. The 196-room resort, which is set to open this summer, has been franchised by Hilton with Zetland Capital. SWOT Hospitality will manage the property. All rooms have their own outdoor space, and 85 will have their own pool or hot tub. The hotel will have five restaurants and two bars -designed by Trastelis Group-; two pools, a fitness center and two 150-person meeting rooms. 

VIRGIN HOTELS NEW YORK’S RESERVATIONS BEGIN: Virgin Hotels has announced reservations have commenced for the brand’s latest hotel — Virgin Hotels New York City — and will open in February. Located in New York’s NoMad neighborhood, the 38-story has 460 rooms. Markzeff and Stantec oversaw the hotel’s design and architecture. The hotel has a penthouse suite with 2,800 square feet, multiple dining options, and an outdoor rooftop pool. 

SIX SENSES TO NAPA COUNTY: Six Senses Napa Valley has opened in Napa County, near San Francisco, California. An older resort that was a natural spa destination until the 1970s will be restored and restructured for the Six Senses property. The 3,000-acre resort will be designed by the California-based Architectural Resources Group, with developer Weller Development Partners working to preserve existing structures. 1508 London will design the interiors. The hotel, which is set to open in 2026, will have 95 rooms and suites and 10 tent-style structures. Six Senses will provide service to 16 branded residences on the property. The property will also include wellness areas, four dining options, and a bar. The investment group, comprising Weller Development Partners, Pegasus Capital Advisors, and IHG Hotels & Resorts, will work with partners in sustainability to restore the recreational green spaces and vineyards.  

IHG DONATES $500,000 TO NRFT SURVIVOR FUND: IHG Hotels & Resorts has donated $500,000 to the AHLA Foundation to support the No Room for Trafficking (NRFT) Survivor Fund. The initiative is part of the hotel industry’s long-term commitment to fighting human trafficking. The fund will be used to help survivors achieve future stability and success. The NRFT Survivor Fund has raised $2.5 million since its inception, thanks to contributions from Extended Stay America, G6 Hospitality, Hilton Global Foundation, Hyatt Hotels Foundation, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
