Briefs: art’otel adds in London; YOTEL debuts in Japan

ART’OTEL ADDS IN LONDON: art’otel, the lifestyle hotel brand owned by PPHE Hotel Group, has grown its footprint in London and opened its second property in London. art’otel London Hoxton is located in east London and features 357 rooms and 48 suites with views of the city. The hotel has a cylindrical structure and includes a café, lounge and cocktail bar, an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, gym, spa, flexible event spaces which can accommodate up to 300 persons and a 60-seat auditorium. The hotel, which features two original artworks by Banksy, also features a 135-square-meter art gallery. A destination restaurant is scheduled to open later this year. Artist Dean Stockton collaborated with Eyal Shoan of design studio Digital Space to design the hotel’s interiors. art’otel London Hoxton joins art’otel London Battersea Power Station, which opened in 2023.

YOTEL’S DEBUT IN JAPAN: YOTEL will be opening its first hotel in Japan and has partnered with Singapore-based Frasers Hospitality to open YOTEL Tokyo Ginza in early 2025. The hotel will be located in central Tokyo, close to the Tokyo Station. The hotel will offer 244 rooms, showcasing the brand’s new features such as a signature robotic concierge, motorized SmartBeds and fully integrated technologies enabling a digital guest experience. YOTEL Tokyo Ginza is part of YOTEL’s strategy to expand in key cities in Japan. The company is also planning to open YOTELAIR, YOTEL’s transit hotel offering, at key gateway airports and train stations. YOTEL Tokyo Ginza is the first of multiple new openings in the region for YOTEL and will be followed by openings in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur between 2025 and 2026. The company’s expansion across Asia is part of its strategy to open in new markets and reach 50 hotels (opened and signed) by 2025.

STEIGENBERGER SIGNS IN EGYPT: H World International, the German hotel company formerly known as Deutsche Hospitality, is expanding the footprint of its Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts brand in Egypt and has unveiled a hotel on the Sinai Peninsula. Slated to open in 2025, The Steigenberger Hotel Saint Catherine is located near Saint Catherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai. The property will feature a hotel with 139 rooms and suites, 70 newly renovated and 248 new eco-lodges along with 45 city and mountain-view rooms, a museum and a visitor center. The hotel will include four dining options, two bars and meeting facilities. The hotel is part of the Great Transfiguration project by Misr Sinai for Tourism S.A.E./New Urban Community Authority, which will transform the region around Saint Catherine into a destination while preserving the cultural heritage. The area around Saint Catherine’s Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The announcement of The Steigenberger Hotel Saint Catherine follows the recent signing of the new Steigenberger Resort Byoum Lakeside, also set to open in 2025, located near Cairo.

CHEVAL LUXURY TOWER IN RIYADH: Cheval Collection has entered into a partnership agreement with Ladun Investment Co. for the construction and operation of Cheval Ladun Living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The property will offer luxury hotel apartments and will be situated near the King Abdullah Financial Center. Marking Cheval Collection’s debut project in Saudi Arabia, the tower will feature 130 residences, ranging from one- to three-room units, along with a gym, pool and sauna. The tower is expected to break ground later this year, with completion scheduled for 2027. Cheval Collection’s portfolio currently includes nine luxury properties in London, three in Edinburgh and one in Dubai, alongside two more in the pipeline.

PRIDE HOTELS ADDS TO INDIAN PORTFOLIO: Pride Hotels Group has announced its new upscale venture in India, Pride Elite Bharuch. Located in Bharuch, Gujarat, the hotel is located near the industrial hub, Dahej port. The hotel will have 60 rooms, a restaurant, a pool, gym, two boardrooms, a 25,000-square-foot lawn for outdoor events and a 3,000-square-foot banquet hall which can host up to 300 persons.
