Georgia’s Barnsley Resort appoints former Omni Homestead leader as managing director

Barnsley Resort, a luxury retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia, has appointed Mark Spadoni as managing director. Spadoni brings more than three decades of experience leading hospitality properties to his new role.

“I’m honored to join Barnsley Resort at such an exciting time in the property’s storied history,” he said. “Following the recent resort-wide enhancements, Barnsley Resort has further solidified its position as a premier destination in the Southeast with standout accommodations, dining and recreational experiences. I look forward to ushering in this next chapter of the resort and welcoming new and repeat guests to create unforgettable memories.”

Spadoni’s experience includes two decades as the general manager of The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa and Club at Savannah Harbor, as well as leading Westin hotels in Hilton Head, S.C.; Stamford, Conn.; New York City; New Orleans, La.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and Lihue, Hawaii. Most recently, he served as managing director of The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa in Hot Springs, Va.

His appointment comes on the heels of an extensive renovation investment at the resort and the debut of several new amenities at the close of 2025 under ownership group South Street Partners. The enhancements span the redesign of 85 cottage suites in partnership with designer Charlotte Lucas, improvements to the Barnsley Resort Shooting Grounds, the addition of signature restaurant Jules, six new pickleball courts, a German-inspired Biergarten, a second family-friendly pool with a lazy river and The Merger, an 18-hole Himalayas-style putting course.
