Bali increases security after terrorist arrests

Security precautions are being taken at hotels and other public areas in Bali, Indonesia, after a successful law enforcement raid on suspected terrorists.

While Bali has suffered from deadly bombings of tourism areas by Islamic terrorists in the past, the Bali Hotel Association said the successful raid will not affect business on the island.

“We would like to commend the authorities in Bali for their successful operation following surveillance and counter-terrorism intelligence,” said Jean-Charles Le Coz, chairman of the association. “The Indonesian authorities, and especially those on Bali, are to be recognized for acting quickly and swiftly in this matter; in the meantime, it’s very much business as usual on the island.”
