Australian Accor hotels catering to Indians

Two Accor hotels in Sydney, Mercure Sydney and The Menzies are the first to achieve a new service standard that caters to Indian visitors.

Accor, Courcouronnes, France, introduced the new standards to ensure staff is trained to respect Indian cultural and religious differences. This was done in light of an 11% annual growth in Indian tourists visiting Australia from 2009 to 2010, bringing the total number up to 128,000.

The program includes Indian dishes on the breakfast, restaurant and room service menus, hotel welcome kits in Hindi, Indian adaptor plugs, Indian television channels and newspapers and Indian snacks and drinks in the minibar.
