Atlantic City Hard Rock ‘boutique casino’ project moves forward

ATLANTIC CITY A stalled boutique casino resort project from Hard Rock Café International is moving forward, with the company applying for permits to begin construction.

The planned US$275 million gaming project at the southern end of the Boardwalk would include a hotel with 208 guestrooms, although it plans to eventually expand to 850 guestrooms. The project site is adjacent to Atlantic City Hilton.

The project is being billed as Atlantic City’s first “boutique casino.”

It is the third major Atlantic City development to advance already this year. Last month, Revel Entertainment Group LLC announced that its US$2.4 billion Revel Resort is scheduled to open in May 2012, and Landry’s Restaurants Inc. is in the process of rebranding the former Trump Marina Hotel Casino as a Golden Nugget.
