Armani Hotel waiter accused of stealing from guests’ rooms

DUBAI A waiter at Burj Khalifa’s Armani Hotel is accused of possessing more than 300,000 dirhams (US$82,000) in stolen cash and goods from guests’ rooms.

The unidentified 20-year-old employee has reportedly admitted to stealing from at least two different guests, UAE news agency The National reports.

“When he was arrested, he confessed to the theft and pulled almost 12,000 dirhams from his wallet,” a Dubai police officer testified.

Police reviewed hotel keycard records to identify which employees had entered the hotel rooms, which pointed to the defendant.
