Aman announced the design for Amancaya, its forthcoming property in Exuma, The Bahamas. The development marks the brand’s first destination in the Bahamas and will comprise a 36-pavilion hotel and a collection of Aman Residences on a private island setting.
Jacobsen Studio leads the architectural concept for the project. Yabu Pushelberg is responsible for interiors and Raymond Jungles, Inc. is leading landscape architecture. OKO Group and Squircle Capital are involved in the development.
Planned facilities include a dedicated marina, beach club, Aman Spa and Fitness Centre, nature trails and dining venues. Aman Residences will range from three to five bedrooms, each with a private swimming pool and indoor-outdoor living spaces. Residence owners will have access to resort facilities and full Aman service.
“A private island in one of the most beautiful corners of the world, Amancaya represents a significant evolution for Aman in the Caribbean,” said Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “A project defined by its unique location and connection to nature, we are creating a destination that reflects Aman’s enduring philosophy of space and privacy while providing intuitive service, best-in-class amenities and a first-of-its-kind design collaboration in The Bahamas.”
The project is targeting LEED certification and has aligned its environmental goals with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Amancaya joins Aman’s existing Caribbean properties, Amanera in the Dominican Republic and Amanyara in the Turks and Caicos. Additional forthcoming Aman destinations in the Americas include Amanvari on Mexico’s East Cape, scheduled to open this summer, as well as Aman Beverly Hills and Aman Miami Beach.
