Alien robots fight at Hotel 71, promotional package follows

CHICAGO Hotel 71 is taking full promotional advantage of the controlled chaos taking place on its front doorstep this week, as the third installment of the action film franchise “Transformers” films just outside the upscale hotel.

Hotel 71’s Transformers Package includes nightly accommodations, parking, a special “Transformers” welcome amenity, a US$20 F&B credit and daily updates on filming locations around Chicago. The package is good through August 11, when Chicago filming is scheduled to wrap.

The hotel’s main restaurant, East Café, has added the Optimus Prime Burger—named for one of the film’s main characters—to its menu.

Not included in the package are showings of “Transformers” and “Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen,” both of which are available on pay-per-view.

This is not Hotel 71’s first brush with film stardom. The property stood in as Bruce Wayne’s penthouse in the 2008 blockbuster movie, “The Dark Knight.”

Hotel 71 is managed by The West Paces Hotel Group and is owned by Canyon Capital Realty Advisors LLC.
