LAS VEGAS Wynn Las Vegas is closing its celebrated French restaurant Alex to make way for a special events space.
The Michelin 2-starred restaurant by Chef Alex Stratta will close permanently on January 15. A Wynn spokeswoman says the down economy has taken its toll on the restaurant and that the space will be converted into an elegant events area.
Stratta tells Las Vegas Weekly that he is “really bummed out” about the closing. However, his casual Italian restaurant, Stratta, remains open at Wynn.
