The Singapore-based Banyan Tree Holdings announced that it appointed Abid Butt as CEO of Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts.
In his most recent position, Butt was the vice president for asset management of Host Hotels & Resorts in the U.S. Butt previous worked for Banyan Tree as the area general manager for the group’s flagship resort, Banyan Tree Phuket and later as Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts vice president of operations from 2000 to 2002.
“I am delighted to return to the Banyan Tree family and participate in the company’s dynamic growth and development,” said Butt. “I will be focused on strategic initiatives for the 30 hotels in our current portfolio, along with the successful launch of future projects around the world. I look forward to working with our dedicated associates and valuable partners in continuing to chart the path of Banyan Tree’s pre-eminence in the luxury hospitality space.”
Banyan Tree manages and/or has ownership interests in over 20 hotels worldwide.
