BALTIMORE, MARYLAND A pair of office buildings in downtown Baltimore that are undergoing conversions into IHG-branded hotels are going on the auction block next month.
The foreclosure sales, announced by Alex Cooper Auctioneers Inc., will be held on August 12. Both auctions will be held at the former Keyser Building, which is one of the properties up for auction; it is under redevelopment as a 130-key Hotel Indigo. The other auction involves the former Jefferson Building that is being converted into a 100-key Staybridge Suites property.
The Indigo property was originally slated to open last fall, but the developer ran into financial trouble before the renovation could be completed. A nearly identical story is true for the Staybridge project, but with a different development company.
According to the auction company, the Indigo is “substantially completed,” while the Staybridge is about halfway to completion.
