12 new JW Marriott hotels slated to open in next 18 months

BETHESDA, MARYLAND Marriott International’s luxury JW Marriott brand is scheduled to flag 12 additional properties by the end of next year, bringing the total global portfolio to 64 hotels in 27 countries. 

Openings are expected this year in Bangalore and Chandigarh, India; Ankara, Turkey; and Baku, Azerbaijan. JW Marriotts will open next year in the Maldives, Peru, Dubai, Hanoi, Seoul, Gurgaon, Chennai and New Delhi.

In addition, another 13 properties are planned for completion by year-end 2015, increasing the total JW Marriott global portfolio to 77 properties in 29 countries.

The 175-key JW Marriott Hotel Chandigarh, opening this month, will be situated in the center of the modern city. Included will be a variety of restaurants, bars and lounges along with a luxury spa, outdoor swimming pool and a state of the art fitness center.

The 416-key JW Marriott Hotel Ankara will open in July. The 24-stor tower is covered in colored glass.

The 250-key JW Marriott Hotel Bangalore, scheduled to open in November, is located near Bangalore’s commercial center. Its dining options include three specialty restaurants, a nightclub, brasserie, pool bar, al fresco poolside dining and a 24-hour coffee shop. It will offer a luxury spa, swimming pool and fitness center and 1,140 sq. m of flexible meeting space.

The 243-key JW Marriott Absheron Baku, scheduled to open in December, will be Marriott’s first hotel in Azerbaijan. It is replacing Baku’s famous Absheron hotel on a site overlooking Azadliq Square and the Caspian Sea. The property will offer a spa, fitness center and a swimming pool on the 22nd floor, along with 1,800 sq. m of flexible meeting space.

Recently opened JW Marriott hotels include JW Marriott Marquis Miami (November), JW Marriott Chicago (February), JW Marriott Indianapolis (February) and JW Marriott Cannes (May).
