MONACO Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn will serve as an outside director for a joint venture between the governments of Monaco and Qatar, and his role has earned him Monegasque citizenship.
Wynn does not intend to renounce his American citizenship, however, despite being granted Monegasque status by Prince Albert II. Monaco requires its citizens to give up other citizenships, and it is unclear how this may affect Wynn’s role with the joint venture.
Wynn Resorts has confirmed the arrangement but has not released details about Wynn’s role. Qatar and Monaco in August announced the formation of Monaco QD International Hotels and Resorts Management, which will seek to acquire and manage properties in Europe, North America and the Middle East.
