Woolley returns with another all-suite brand

Robert Woolley, who in 1969 created the first all-suite hotel, is back with a new brand in 2013 — Woolley’s Classic Suites. Construction has begun on the first hotel near Denver International Airport in Aurora’s Gateway Office Park.

The hotel with 187 guest suites and four executive suites is projected to open in spring 2014. Woolley first purchased the land for the flagship hotel in 2011 and now has the financing provided by FirstBank of Colorado.

The first Woolley’s Classic Suites will include a lush, oasis-style atrium and will offer complimentary breakfasts and cocktail hours every day, both hallmarks of the Woolley tradition. Hotel facilities will also include seven flexible meeting spaces totaling 5,000 square feet.

From the first hotel in 1969, the Granada Royale Hometel, the brand grew to 26 properties with approximately 75 franchised locations, and in 1984, Holiday Inn purchased the chain. Woolley became the largest franchisee of Embassy Suites and went on to develop more than 45 hotels and 10,000 suites before launching his newest venture.

Woolley’s Classic Suites is currently interviewing candidates for its management and sales leadership team. Qualified hospitality industry professionals should submit resumes to info@wcshotels.com. When fully staffed at opening, Woolley’s Classic Suites will operate with a staff of more than 200 full- and part-time employees.
