Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa has completed a renewal project to update guestrooms, suites, public spaces, meeting spaces, the fitness center, the pool and the beach experience.
The relaxed island look is by a Leo A Daly design team led by Pat Miller and Kathy Armstrong. The design includes shellstone, abaca rope, rattan, sea glass, and wood stained in soft blues and whites.
The resort’s 343 guest accommodations have new furniture, flat-screen plasma televisions, carpeting and linens, while the bathrooms have been updated with granite vanities, polished marble flooring, and photographs by Patty Hinz. Westin will add its Heavenly Bath dual showerheads this year.
The entrance has new landscaping in the updated porte-cochère. In addition to new furniture, the lobby has freshly repainted wainscoting, columns, and ceiling and is decorated with art of local flora and fauna and mirrors in mother-of-pearl frames. Meeting and banquet space has new carpet and a fresh coat of paint, and the fitness center has new flooring, fresh paint, and new equipment.
The freshwater pool has an upgraded surface and lighting and has new poolside cabanas. The new Pool & Beach Experience includes paddleboard yoga, water aerobics, children’s fitness, and “Beach Ambassadors” to pamper guests on the beach.
Food and beverage is also getting an update with new Executive Chef Michael Farrell’s Southern coastal style. The resort includes the beachside Tortugas Beach Grill & Bar, the AAA Four Diamond-rated Casa Havana, Ferdinand’s Caribbean Café, and Café Soleil.
