What’s Hot: Sheraton renovates in Australia

Sheraton Hotels and Resorts earlier this week revealed the completion of an extensive AUD$43 million (US$32.6 million) renovation of the beachside Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas resort in Australia. The project included a refresh of all guestrooms, suites and public areas.

The lobby features a revamped porte cochére and main entrance, featuring natural tones and tropical gardens. Travelers can also take advantage of a new express VIP check-in and check-out hub, as well as the Lobby Café. Other on-site food and beverage options include the new Feast, an interactive buffet and alfresco poolside dining experience, and the remodeled Daintree Bar & lounge, offering Sheraton’s Paired small plates, wine and craft beer menu.

The resort’s 294 guestrooms and suites incorporate coastal turquoise green, driftwood timber tiled floors, stone-topped mini bars and natural wood furnishings. As part of the refurbishment, the resort is also introducing 41 Lagoon Edge Rooms and 12 Lagoon Edge Studio Suites on the ground floor with private balconies that offer direct access to the saltwater lagoon swimming pools.
