Conrad Maldives Rangali Island recently completed a renovation of 28 Water Villas to transform them into contemporary over-water retreats.

The Water Villas were given an open plan and new details such as a desk set over glass panels to make it seem like it is floating over the water below. The décor features natural tones of wood and soft whites with shades of lavender and green. Additional decking, private pools and bathrooms with picture windows overlooking the ocean are other new highlights.

Conrad Maldives Rangali Island also is introducing three new suites this month: the Premier Water Suite and two Beach Suites.

The over-water, 3,282-sq-ft (305-sq-m) Premier Water Suite promises a two-bedroom hideaway on stilts above the lagoon with two over-water swimming pools set on a wooden deck facing west to showcase dramatic sunsets. Beds appear to float above the floor while two large bathrooms each feature a sunken Jacuzzi.

Two 6,997-sq-ft (650-sq-m) Beach Suites each include two separate bedrooms. One Beach Suite faces west for superb sunset views while the other faces east and is just steps from the resort’s coral reef. Other highlights are open-air garden bathrooms in each bedroom and two separate plunge pools set in a tropical garden that leads onto the beach.
