Gansevoort Turks + Caicos has opened a new restaurant, Stelle, by Toronto restaurateur Franco Agostino, whose previous restaurants include Il Post Nuovo, Caffe Doria and Banfi.
Stelle, which translates to “stars” in Italian, offers a gourmet Mediterranean menu showcasing local fish and seafood. Menu highlights include lobster salad with melon, cucumber, pickled malaysian fennel, spiced seaweed and citrus vinaigrette; linguini pescatore with shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari; and beef tenderloin with tempura croquette potato, pan-seared asparagus and glace de viande.
Guests can dine poolside under the stars or in the redesigned dining room complete with twinkling chandeliers.
“This island truly inspires me,” Agostino said. “I look forward to creating dishes that incorporate Mediterranean cuisine with Caribbean delicacies.”
