What’s Hot: Marriott in Miami unveils renovation, new name

South Beach Marriott has undergone a six-month, US$10 million renovation and changed its name to Marriott Stanton South Beach.

The new name comes from the original identity of an adjoining two-story building, currently home to meeting space, hotel rooms and a Starbucks.

The 234 refreshed guestrooms feature stylized, color-processed photographs of Miami Beach and custom built-ins inspired by surfboards.

The first phase also overhauled hard and soft goods in the lobby, corridors and concierge lounge.

Other amenities at the beachfront Marriott Stanton South Beach include two pools, a spa and an oceanfront terrace that flows into the Deco Blue Restaurant & Bar.

“With our fresh look and repositioning efforts going into 2014, we think a name change is the perfect opportunity to show guests that this is an entirely new property,” says GM David Cronin, in a press release.
