La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California, outside San Diego, has finished a program of room renovations.
Guestrooms in the Mediterranean-style building have a “fresh vintage” look in warm hues with down comforters, in-room coffee makers, and gourmet private bars. La Valencia Hotel offers guestrooms, suites and 16 villas whose décor includes white fir beamed ceilings, Italian marble floors and private patio areas. The 87-year-old hotel retains its pink stucco exterior and tower.
The 112-key property plans to open a new street-front Café La Rue (containing the property’s historic Whaling Bar) next month, and work is set to begin on a three-story spa next year.
