What’s Hot: Hotel Victor South Beach reopens after renovation

Hotel Victor South Beach in Miami Beach, Florida, has reopened after a five-month, US$8 million refurbishment project.

Designers Yabu Pushelberg upgraded all 91 of the guestrooms and suites as well as the lobby and the outdoor pool and cabana area. The new spaces have a “beach house” feel, with neutral tones and natural textures.

The new, modern lobby has plenty of seating, as well as communal computers, free WiFi, and complimentary access to Beach Cruisers to explore the surrounding area.

The pool deck includes 10 private cabanas, and the two new boardrooms can accommodate 10 and 20 guests, respectively.

A Pinkberry outlet serves frozen yogurt on the hotel’s ground floor; early next year, Sushi MiKasa will open, as well.

Hotel Victor made its debut in 1937, with an Art Deco design by architect Lawrence Murray Dixon. The French designer and architect Jacques Garcia later restored the property.

The property’s owners recently purchased the adjacent Versace Mansion, most recently known as Casa Casuarina, for US$41.5 million; they plan to relaunch the property as a boutique hotel that will be an extension of Hotel Victor.
